Prescriptive Software Possibilities for Ecosystem Management
Western Ag Innovations is striving to develop prescriptive software similar to PRS™ Nutrient Forecaster to be used in monitoring the earth's ecosystems. As such, we are gathering ecologically-based research data to be used in aggregate to develop prescriptive management tools for ecology. Find out more about the future possibility of sublicensing our PRS™ technology and prescriptive software.
The PRS™ Nutrient Forecaster
Western Ag Innovations, teamed with its sublicensee, Western Ag Labs has helped farmers across western Canada reach optimal economic yields. Through our PRS™ technology, we collect soil nutrient data and then simulate environment parameters to develop crop nutrition plans for a variety of agronomic crops. Similar technology can be applied to ecosystem management or restoration.
On October 28, 2004 in Waterloo, ON, the University of Saskatchewan and Western Ag Innovations Inc. were awarded with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)'s Synergy Award for developing and commercializing a new way of measuring the soil nutrients crops need.
