Who Can Complete An Application?

These questions should be answered by someone with knowledge of the proposed research. This person could be the principal investigator or a graduate student or technician. However, when an agreement is created, it will need approval and payment arrangements from the principal investigator. The principal investigator is typically the person who is responsible for how a research project is conducted and has access to the funding for the research.

Pre-Order Form

Please fill in the form below to begin the order process. After you submit your order, an R&D Co-ordinator will contact you to clarify any outstanding information and send you an estimate and confirmation for confirming the number of samples you want to order. The application is not final until we have received the signed confirmation.

If you want to order PRS™-probes for teaching in your classroom, please add "For classroom teaching" in the comment/question box at the bottom of this application.

Research Objectives and Details

Which of the following best describes your research objectives?
(multiple objectives can be selected)
To understand how soil ion supply rates affect:
  • Plant nutrient uptake
  • Plant growth/health
  • Species composition
  • Leaching or runoff losses
To understand how soil ion supply rates are affected by:
  • Plant growth
  • Plant species or vegetation type
  • Soil amendments
  • Other management factors (e.g., irrigation, tillage, crop rotation)
  • Climate (e.g., experimental warming or precipitation)
  • Grazing or other animal activity
  • Temporal or spatial availability
  • Atmospheric deposition
  • Soil type
Soil ion supply rates are affected by moisture, temperature and competition (e.g., plant uptake). Will you be monitoring or controlling these parameters?:
  • Soil moisture
  • Soil temperature
  • Plant Uptake
  • Soil moisture
  • Soil temperature
  • Plant Uptake
How many hours or days will you be burying the PRS™-Probes?
  • Recommended burial time usually depends on the climate, available moisture, and whether there are fertilization treatments.
  • HELP - For information about burial times, please see PRS™-Probe Burial Lengths.
  • Below are some common in-situ burial times for the most common applications.
It should be noted that actual burial times for your study will depend on your particular study system and research objectives.
    • Agriculture applications: 1-14 days
    • Forest applications: 1-8 weeks
    • Grassland applications: 1 week-3 months
