Topics: General / Technical / Logistical / Ordering / Past Research

How are the PRS™-probes shipped?

To the Researcher:

Whenever possible, PRS™-probe requests should be made at least three weeks or more before the PRS™-probes are needed, which allows ample time for lease process and shipment of the PRS™-probes to the researcher. Depending on the location, it may take up to ten business days for the PRS™-probes to arrive after signing the agreement. Western Ag Innovations pays for basic shipping the PRS™-probes on all orders exceeding 50 PRS™-probes analyses place two weeks in advance. The researcher may choose to use a faster shipping method but they will incur any associated costs.

Note: for all international shipments, applicable import customs fees and/or duties are charged to the researcher.

For research projects located in the United States, we can provide our clients with PRS™-probes shipped from Western Ag Labs in Sherwood, North Dakota.

To Western Ag Innovations:

When returning PRS™-probes back to Western Ag Innovations for analysis, the researcher is responsible for the shipping costs. It is very important that they are shipped using a courier guaranteeing quick delivery (i.e., FedEx®, UPS®, DHL®, etc.). Shipments taking longer than one day to reach Western Ag Innovations should be kept cool by packing the PRS™-probes with several ice packs (do not use frozen water bottles).

For all international shipments, applicable import customs fees and/or duties are to be paid by the researcher. To avoid unnecessary processing delays with customs, please ensure that on the shipping/commercial invoice it states “plastic PRS™-probes” and the country of manufacture is Canada and probes are returning to Canada (Code 066). Also, please include THREE copies of the commercial invoice with the shipping invoice.

*Ground shipping across Canadian border can require a customs broker

All ™-probes should be returned to Western Ag Innovations at the end of a research agreement. This includes any broken or unused ™-probes. All broken PRS™-probes are recycled at our facility into new ™-probes. Please notify your R&D Coordinator if any PRS™-probes are lost during the course of your fieldwork. Charges may be applied at $15/probe for all PRS™-probes that are not returned at the end of the experiment.

Researchers located in the United States may send PRS™-probe samples for analysis to our Western Ag Labs in Sherwood, North Dakota.
