Ecohydrological implications of road construction and reclamation: Interim data report

Petrone, R. M.. 2012. Wilfrid Laurier University

Abstract

The JACOS Hangingstone development is located approximately 49 km southwest of Fort McMurray within township 84, range 11, west of the 4th meridian (Figure 1). The project was originally initiated as a Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) pilot project in 1983. The development was converted to a demonstration project in 1999 to assess the applicability of Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) for bitumen recovery from deeper deposits typical of the JACOS lease. Presently, the project recovers and processes bitumen from 4 well pads with a total of 12 well pairs.
